The CHP pursued a vehicle on Highway 46 East towards Paso Robles this evening between about 7:00 to 7:15 PM. CHP AIr-70 followed overhead and described the location of the driver as he foot bailed in the residential area off of Jardine Road near the Paso Robles Airport.  The subject received a much slower ride to county jail for his actions.

Air Attack Units, Busy to Busier - June 11

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Just a note to comment that the Air attack units have been extra busy today as noted on about every available fire-fighting frequency.  Some aircraft were being diverted to Santa Maria airport for refueling and reloading as the Paso Airbase was probably at maximum operating capacity today.

The Santa Cruz ARES has established a command post to support efforts for the “Bonny Doon” fire in the mountains of Santa Cruz. They can be heard on 146.790 among others.

As an aside, I had five or six receivers or scanners on this afternoon and I’ve never heard so much radio traffic while on the central coast.
