Special Mid-State Fair temperature UPDATE:

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009
A high-pressure ridge continues to move northward into the Pacific Northwest while a very weak surface low will approach northern California. This condition will produce cooler temperatures.
Temperatures at the fair will remain below normal levels through Sunday.
Nighttime temperatures will be colder than indicated on earlier orecast. Combined with gentle to moderate southerly winds and possible low clouds and fog during the late night hours will make it feel even colder. It would probably be a good idea to bring extra clothing.
Temperatures should range from the low to mid 70s at 7 p.m. and will lower to the high 50s by 11 p.m.

Full July Moon Tonight

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Tonight’s Full Buck Moon rises locally at 8:50 PM PDT, about a half-hour after sunset at 8:21 PM.

The July full moon is also called the Full Thunder Moon, Full Hay Moon, Full Mead Moon, Full Blood Moon, Full Summer Moon, Full Ripe Corn Moon, Full Crane Moon, or Full Rose Moon. If you are Celtic, it’s the Moon Of Claiming.

Here it is shortly after rising over SE SLO last evening:

SLOweather updates

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

You may have noticed over the last few weeks that SLOweather has not updated current conditions as often as it should. We’ve been having trouble with the main weather computer, and today, Independence Day, have begun migrating to a new computer.

Over the next few days and weeks, we’ll be moving more of the SLOweather apps to the new computer, and then, ultimately, to an entirely different different way of getting our data to your web browser.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
